Nécrologie de Elizabeth Brisard (nee Mercier)

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Elizabeth “Bessie” Brisard (nee Mercier) of Chapeau, Québec on February 25, 2023 in Shawville Hospital.  Born to Ephraim Mercier and Mamie Brennan on November 11, 1932, the 4th daughter of 13 children.

Mom leaves to mourn, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren & daughters-in-law;  Paul (Pauline Stewart), Nancy, her sons Tyler & Conor Brisard, David (Lucie Chartrand) & Jeff Allard, his daughter Emily & her two beautiful daughters Nevaeh (Nevi) & Savannah (Savi) Bedard of Pembroke.  Her four legged boy, Statik, is lost without her.

Mom is survived by her sisters, Theresa Cashman of Wakefield, Frances Fleming of Chapeau, Noella Wilson of Pembroke & brother Pat Mercier (Verna Morris) of Chapeau. She was Aunt Bessie to many nieces & nephews, great & grandnieces & great & grandnephews all of whom will sorely miss her lovely meals. She was the best cook ever! As one of our cousins said on her passing, “The meals in Heaven just got a lot better”.

Mom is now in the open arms of Daddy, Arnold Brisard (dec 06/09/64), our beautiful sister Pauline Brisard, taken far too young at 17 (dec 04/03/71) & her siblings Helen Donlan, Kitty Marcotte, Marie Robinson, Eileen Brunette, Clair Mercier, Cyril Mercier, Neil Mercier and Baby Francis.

As per Mom’s wishes cremation has taken place.  Funeral mass will be held in St. Alphonsus Church, Chapeau, Quebec on Tuesday March 7, 2023 at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Residence Meilleur in Chapeau or The Canadian Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
