Nécrologie de Wendy & Dale Crawford

Surrounded by their family and closest friends, Wendy and Dale Crawford passed away peacefully on January 29th and 30th, 2023 respectfully.

They were married on February 18, 1974, and were never far apart from each other for nearly 50 years. They lived together on Bonnie Elms Farm and raised their family in Campbell’s Bay, Quebec.

Dale Crawford "Jack" was born in Campbell’s Bay, Quebec in their farm house on May 7, 1944. He was the son of Myrtle Peever and Ervin Crawford. He was the last survivor of the Crawford clan family: Jean, Beulah, Leonard, David, Myles, James. Jack was passionate about farming, Ayrshire cows, hockey, having a great chat and a good snack. He was an encyclopedia, calendar and weather man. He enjoyed sneaking and spoiling his grandkids with tasty goodies and tickling their feet. He always loved a good back scratch. Dale’s second love of his life, Bonnie Elms farm, will be managed and loved by his eldest son Robert.

Wendy Bright was born on February 10th, 1954 in Prince Rupert, British Columbia. She was the daughter of Hazel Simpson and Robert Bright. She is survived by her sister Carol (Norman) Bayne. Wendy loved crafting, camping, baking, chatting on the phone and the Farmer’s market. In her younger years, she bred and showed rough-coated Collies. It is no surprise she married a farmer, surrounding herself with animals. She loved many, many pets over the years. She had immeasurable amounts of fun playing card and board games with her grand babies.

Wendy and Dale will be dearly missed by their sons; Robert (Melissa) and Darryl (Leen) and daughter Laura (Jack) and their greatest treasures Cameron, Lucas, Jonathan, Jacob, Emilia and Elio.

A Celebration of Life in honour of Dale and Wendy will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.. Very close friends and family are invited to reminisce about times at the farm. Casual dress is welcomed.
