It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Patsy Allard, on Friday, April 2, 2021 at the Marianhill Nursing Home in Pembroke. Patsy is predeceased by her devoted husband Merrill Allard of 66 years and her boys Mike and Danny. Patsy was a much loved mother by her children, Mary Kate (Allan Duff), Anne (Rick Huxtable), Teresa (Andre Cloutier), John Paul (Jennifer Trimm), Adele (Robert Varner), Pat (Janet Cadieux), Christine (Bobby Gallagher), Colleen (Steve White and the late Andrew Gribbon), Jennifer (Darwin Groskleg). Mom will be dearly missed by her beautiful 30 grandchildren and her 35 great-grandchildren who brought her so much joy. She will be fondly remembered by her godchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Patsy leaves behind her dear sister Evelyn (Bob Lacroix), her brother Hector (Barbara Tierney), her brother-in-law Murray Manley (Rosemarie Atwell), she was predeceased by her mother Evelyn Burke, her father Hector Chugg and her siblings Margaret Anne, Jimmy (Marina Hearty) and Caroline (Murray Manley). Mom will be fondly remembered for her kindness to others, her smiles, her laughter (giggles), large family gatherings, her many gourmet meals, her pies and cookies. Christmas was a very special time for Mom as she enjoyed giving gifts to everyone, she would start shopping in August, we sure loved those pajamas. Mom also knitted many baby bonnets for the newborn babies at the Pembroke Hospital. Mom loved to knit baby Christening blankets, bonnets, sweaters and booties. She made sure no little toes would be cold in the winter knitting so many pairs of socks and her scarves were welcomed by all. Patsy loved to play her piano and listen to the kids play the violin, guitars, piano and with her beautiful voice she would sing along. Mom also loved her gardening. We would like to thank the staff at Marianhill Nursing Home for their care, support and compassion; you made a difference. We would also like to thank Supples Retirement Residence for the care they provided to Mom over the last couple of years. A private family gathering will be held at the Hayes Funeral Home, Chapeau, Quebec on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Alphonsus Church, Chapeau, Quebec in the intimacy of the immediate family only. Funeral Mass will be live streamed on Fr. Tim Moyle's and on the Catholic Parishes of the Upper Pontiac Facebook page at 1 p.m. Interment St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Chapeau, Quebec.
